First National Operation and Maintenance Co. Ltd (NOMAC) has signed an agreement for the training and employment of Saudi nationals with Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) in Jeddah. NOMAC aims in terms of its vision to attain leadership position in Operation and Maintenance services of Power Generation and Water Desalination Plants in the region through training and development of Human Resources on the latest technologies and the best operating skills in the sector and that of interest to the Saudi government. The agreement was signed by Engr. Ibraheim Azhary, General Manager – HR & Admin of NOMAC and Mr. Haitham Banawi, Manager-Facilities Support Division of HRDF on 26th Feb 2012. Followed by this, HRDF has approved subsidizing of 66 Saudi employees in this year as NOMAC’s initial step in its five-year recruitment plan to increase the percentage of the Saudization of 20% to 40% through the support
of HRDF. It should be noted that NOMAC has established Higher Institute for Water & Power Technologies (HIWPT) with its strategic partners to contribute the development of Saudi Human Resources to meet the needs of the sector by producing highly qualified technical skills. The Institute is located in Rabigh City and currently enrolled 300 trainees from private and public sectors in the Kingdom. NOMAC, an ISO certified company, is the largest O&M company in the region for Power and Desalination. NOMAC is operating and maintaining Desalination and Power plants at multiple sites in the Kingdom at Shuqaiq, Yanbu, Rabigh, in which, Multi Stage Flashing Desalination plant in Shuabiah is the largest of its kind in the world with a capacity of 880,000m3 and combined-cycle power plant at Qurayyah is the largest in the world with capacity of 3,972mw.
